Warriors officially add Matt Barnes

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

With Kevin Durant down, the Golden State Warriors will slide another Barnes into the small forward spot. A year after Harrison Barnes' final season with the Dubs, the team officially signed Matt Barnes Thursday.

The scrappy Barnes was waived by the Sacramento Kings on Feb. 20. It will be the 36-year-old's second stint with Golden State, having played with the club previously from 2006-08. In 909 career games with nine teams, Barnes has averaged 8.2 points and 4.6 rebounds.

The signing also means Barnes will have played for all four California NBA teams in the last six seasons.
