Pelicans' Cheick Diallo: Assigned to D-League

Diallo was assigned to the D-League's Long Island Nets on Tuesday, Justin Verrier of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

When given the opportunity, Diallo has shown flashes of his considerable potential, but he hasn't been a fixture in the Pelicans' rotation over the last few weeks. With the team in New York until Thursday, Diallo will take advantage of some additional action, as he'll be in uniform for the Nets' matchup Tuesday with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
