Draymond Green still doesn't understand why he was suspended during the NBA Finals.

The Golden State Warriors forward was forced to miss Game 5 of the series against the Cleveland Cavaliers after hitting LeBron James between the legs during the previous contest. He was retaliating after James pushed him to the ground and walked over him.

"If someone walks over me, I'm going to always react," Green recently told The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears. "I still look at the play and wonder, 'Why was I suspended?' To each his own. It's out of my control. But I just won't put myself in that position."

That play saw Green pick up a flagrant-1 - his fourth flagrant-foul point in the postseason, which is grounds for an automatic one-game suspension. The Cavs reportedly urged the league to extend the ban.

Up 3 games to 1, the Warriors dropped Game 5 without their best defender. The rest, as they say, is history, with Cleveland completing the comeback and capturing its first title.

Green, who welcomed his first child this week, said he learned "a lot" from the incident - which is regarded as the turning point that kept the Dubs from repeating as champs - and is no longer haunted by how the series unfolded.

"I'm over it already," he said. "I'll never forget it. You can't change it. I try not to worry about things you can't change. And I know I can't change that, but I'll never forget it. But I'm all the way over it."

The 26-year-old All-Star also indicated his friendship with James wasn't affected by the heated exchange.

"Basketball is basketball," he said. "We've never been ones to talk on the phone every day. ... There are no hard feelings there, but I can only speak for me."
