Cavaliers' J.R. Smith: MRI comes back inconclusive
Smith had an MRI performed on his right thumb following Tuesday's game against the Bucks, but the results were inconclusive, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:
Smith suffered the thumb injury during the first half of Tuesday's overtime win over the Bucks, and with the extent of the setback still uncertain, he'll receive further evaluation when the team returns to Cleveland on Wednesday. The Cavaliers should provide a follow-up note on Smith's condition within the next day, but as it stands now, it seems unlikely that he'll be ready to play in the second half of the back-to-back set Wednesday with the Bucks. DeAndre Liggins stated the second half in Smith's place and would likely be on track to run with the top unit at shooting guard Wednesday if Smith is ruled out.
