Lakers' Jose Calderon: Out for 2-to-4 weeks

Calderon (hamstring) has been ruled out for two-to-four weeks, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reports.

Analysis:

Calderon was diagnosed with the right hamstring strain after Saturday's loss to the Grizzlies, with an MRI on Monday confirming the injury and allowing the Lakers to offer up a timetable for his return. The veteran point guard had been filling in for D'Angelo Russell (knee), starting nine of the past 10 games, but with both players now sidelined, the Lakers will likely lean on Jordan Clarkson and Marcelo Huertas to initiate their offense. Which of those two players might start is still up in the air, as coach Luke Walton has shown a preference this season to keep Clarkson on the bench as the team's sixth man, though he'd still likely see the majority of the minutes at point guard.
