Pistons' Reggie Jackson: Cleared to make season debut Sunday
Jackson (knee) will make his season debut and start at point guard in Sunday's game against the Magic, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Analysis:
In an effort to ease Jackson back into the fray after he missed the Pistons' first 21 games with left knee tendinitis, coach Stan Van Gundy plans to limit the point guard's workload Sunday. According to Jake Chapman of the Pistons Radio Network, Jackson is expected to play four-to-five minutes to begin each quarter, which should translate to a 16-to-20 minute workload in his return to action. It's expected that he'll eventually settle near the 30-minute range, with Ish Smith, who will move to the bench upon Jackson's return, absorbing the remaining minutes at the position. Assuming Jackson makes it through Sunday's game without any setbacks, he'll remain a viable lineup option in most formats for the upcoming week.
