Report: Clippers exploring virtual reality to fix Jordan's FT woes
The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly taking a page out of the Detroit Pistons' book as they try to correct their big man's wayward free-throw shooting.
The Clippers are looking at virtual-reality technology that might help DeAndre Jordan cash in more of his freebies, a source told ESPN's Zach Lowe.
Whether they've actually started using the technology is unclear, but Jordan's free-throw percentage is a not-disastrous 52 percent this season, the second-best mark of his career and a considerable improvement on his career percentage of 42.5.
Pistons center Andre Drummond, who has similarly had longstanding issues at the stripe, said before the season started that he'd been using a virtual-reality system "three times every week" to help him improve. The system, he explained, allowed him to watch himself making free throws, either from a first or third-person perspective.
Drummond's free-throw shooting this season is up to a career-high 47.3 percent.
