Nuggets' Malone: Westbrook 'plays like someone pissed in his cheerios'
Russell Westbrook plays a style of basketball that sometimes warrants the use of colorful metaphors.
"He plays like someone pissed in his cheerios every morning," Nuggets head coach Mike Malone told reporters Friday morning, as reported by BSN Denver's Harrison Wind. "Sixteen years in the league, I don't know if I've ever seen a player like him."
Malone has a point, as Westbrook is looking to be the first player since Oscar Robertson in 1961-62 to average a triple double for an entire season.
The five-time All-Star is posting numbers the league hasn’t seen in decades, averaging 31.8 points, 10.5 assists, and 9.6 rebounds, with five triple doubles already through 16 games.
The Thunder are in Denver Friday to take on the Nuggets for the first of four matchups between the Northwest Division rivals this season.
