Washington Wizards power forward Markieff Morris suffered a right ankle sprain midway through the second quarter against the Miami Heat on Saturday, and did not return.
Morris scored six points on 3-of-4 shooting in nine minutes of action before injuring the ankle on a play in which he collided with Heat guard Rodney McGruder.
The Wizards went on to lose 114-111, falling to 3-9 on the season.
X-rays on Morris' ankle came back negative, and he said he believes he'll be able to practice on Sunday, according to Candace Buckner of The Washington Post.
Morris has been a rare semi-bright spot for his scuffling squad, averaging 14.4 points and 7.1 rebounds while shooting a career-best 42.9 percent from 3-point range coming into Saturday's game.
