Watch: Oklahoma announcer suggests Blake Griffin should join Thunder

While Blake Griffin isn't slated to become a free agent until next offseason, we all know the recruitment process begins long before then.

The Los Angeles Clippers big man returned to his old stomping grounds at the University of Oklahoma Saturday, where he coached the Legends Alumni Game.

At halftime, Sooners announcer Toby Rowland told Griffin, "I thought it was a thunderous start for your team in this game," prompting the crowd of roughly 4,000 to break out in cheer.

The fervor was over the possibility of the former Sooners star joining his hometown Oklahoma City Thunder, who are reportedly interested in acquiring him in 2017.

Of course, Griffin - who recently made the most generous donation ever by an Oklahoma basketball alumnus toward facility upgrades - couldn't respond to Rowland's astute observation.

His Crimson squad responded by remaining thunderous and claiming a 96-89 victory over the Cream team, coached by New Orleans Pelicans first-round pick Buddy Hield.
