ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith is trying to make amends to a fanbase, and an entire country.
After the Toronto Raptors pulled off a surprising win over the favorited Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 on Friday, Smith said there was no way the Raptors win another game.
On Monday, however, Toronto won its second straight over Cleveland to even the series 2-2, forcing Smith to eat his words.
"I gotta be a man of my word and apologize to Canada and all Canadians everywhere because I certainly thought that this was going back to Cleveland 3-1, with the Cavs closing this series out on Wednesday night," Smith said. "So I wouldn't have to go back to Canada, go through customs and all of that other nonsense, but that's not how it went down."
