Portland Trail Blazers big man Meyers Leonard underwent left shoulder surgery Friday in Los Angeles. As the team had previously estimated, he will be sidelined from basketball activity for six-to-eight months, which may butt up against the beginning of next season.
The 7-foot-1 Leonard first injured the shoulder in November, but dislocated it again during a practice in March. As a result, the surprising Blazers head into the playoffs without their stretch-four, who had a good postseason showing in Portland's five-game loss to the Memphis Grizzlies last year.
