NBA Game Summary - New York at Denver

Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Kenneth Faried picked up 19 points and 11 rebounds as Denver claimed a 106-78 victory over New York at Pepsi Center.

Wilson Chandler and Will Barton each contributed 17 points with Ty Lawson adding 14 points and six assists for the Nuggets, who put a two-game losing streak to rest.

"Everyone is contributing in a huge way and I think that's what is helping us do some pretty good things out on the court," said Nuggets guard Randy Foye.

Alexey Shved totaled 19 points for the Knicks, who have lost four in a row. Langston Galloway had 14 points, four assists and three rebounds in defeat.

"We just couldn't sustain our commitment to playing the game the way you have to play it at this level," New York head coach Derek Fisher said.

Denver led 55-40 at the break thanks to 11 points from Barton, then put the game away for good in the third period.

Back-to-back triples by Chandler and Lawson boosted the hosts' edge to 65-45 less than 2 1/2 minutes in. Andrea Bargnani's shot with 3:20 remaining pulled the Knicks within 77-59, but New York went cold and Denver scored the final 14 points.

Lawson keyed it with four free throws which bookended the surge, while Danilo Gallinari and Foye connected on back-to-back triples and Barton and JJ Hickson added buckets.

Joffrey Lauvergne's emphatic slam opened up a game-high 34-point edge for the Nuggets with 6:17 to play and the hosts cruised to the buzzer.

Chandler scored seven in the opening quarter, but the Knicks hung tough and were even at 25-25 after a Shane Larkin jumper.

Another Bargnani triple trimmed the visitors' deficit to 43-40 with 3:13 left before halftime -- the final New York field goal of the quarter. Barton kicked off a 12-0 run with a slam, Lauvergne converted two layups around a Faried hook shot and Darrell Arthur's tip-in provided a 15-point edge at the break.
