NBA Game Summary - New Orleans at Milwaukee
Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony Davis matched a career-high with 43 points and also had 10 rebounds, six assists and two blocks in the New Orleans Pelicans' 114-103 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.
Eric Gordon added 16 points for the Pelicans, who have won two in a row. Tyreke Evans contributed 13 points and six assists before leaving late in the third quarter with a left ankle injury.
Giannis Antetokounmpo ended with a career-best 29 points, three blocks and three steals for the Bucks, who have dropped seven of nine. Michael Carter- Williams tallied 25 points and seven assists.
"Anthony played great," Carter-Williams said. "He's an All-Star and he showed that tonight. The next time we play him we have to do a better job on him if we want to win."
Milwaukee took a 101-100 lead with 3:36 remaining on a jumper by Antetokounmpo. But Davis scored eight straight points as New Orleans closed the game on a 14-2 run.
"I just tried to come out aggressive and make everyone around me better. And when the opportunity was there to score, I just tried to," Davis said.
The Pelicans led 29-26 after the first quarter, which featured seven lead changes and three ties.
New Orleans then started the second on a 12-2 run to build a 13-point margin. But the Bucks scored the next nine points to keep it close.
The Pelicans outscored Milwaukee by a 31-24 margin in the second en route to a 60-50 halftime lead.
The Bucks responded with a strong third quarter, scoring 34 points, to get within 87-84.
