Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Brook Lopez had 22 points and 14 rebounds as the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 114-105 on Friday night.

Joe Johnson netted 23 points to go with six rebounds and Deron Williams added 12 points and 15 assists for the Nets, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

"We played well, we attacked and shared the basketball," Brooklyn coach Lionel Hollins said.

Newly-acquired Thaddeus Young made his debut with Brooklyn and tallied eight points and four boards.

Ed Davis posted 16 points and 14 boards, Jordan Hill provided 12 points and 10 rebounds and Jeremy Lin supplied 18 points for Los Angeles, which dropped its seventh consecutive contest.

"In the first half we played pretty good, but in the second half they punched us and played rope-a-dope. We can't afford to take a quarter off. The effort tonight was unacceptable," Lakers coach Byron Scott said.

Brooklyn turned the game into a rout in the third by outscoring LA 40-20.

Nets went on a 13-4 run to start the frame. Alan Anderson knocked down consecutive 3-pointers during the surge, which Mason Plumlee capped with a jumper for a 69-61 Nets lead.

Brooklyn closed the period on a 13-2 burst to go further in front. Johnson hit a triple before Markel Brown sunk one of two foul shots to finish off the swing after being fouled at the horn.

The Nets took a 96-77 cushion into the fourth, where they led by as many as 22.

Neither team was up by more than seven in the first half, with the Nets holding a 34-32 lead following a quarter of play and the Lakers taking a 57-56 edge into the break.
