NBA Game Summary - LA Lakers at Portland

Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - LaMarcus Aldridge had 18 points and 12 rebounds and the Portland Trail Blazers routed the Los Angeles Lakers 102-86 on Wednesday night.

Wesley Matthews netted 20 points and Damian Lillard added 15 points and eight assists for the Blazers, who head into the All-Star break having won four of their last five games.

Jordan Clarkson posted 17 points, six boards and four assists, while Wayne Ellington added 16 points and eight rebounds for Los Angeles, which has dropped six consecutive contests.

"We've got to get better defensively. So many times on the defensive end we leave each other on an island," Lakers coach Byron Scott said.

Nick Young left late in the third quarter with an apparent left ankle injury.

After Robert Sacre's jumper to start the second half pulled the Lakers within 54-48, the Blazers embarked on a 13-2 run to pull away for good.

Matthews netted seven of the last nine points during the surge, which was capped on his three-point play when he finished an alley-oop with a layup for a 67-50 Portland advantage.

Steve Blake was fouled at the buzzer and split two free throws to stake the Blazers to an 87-65 margin after three.

Portland cruised to the easy win over the final 12 minutes.

"We came in focused, everybody did their part," Lillard said.

Earlier, two Lillard free throws capped an 8-0 Blazers spurt late in the opening frame for a 30-20 spread.

The Blazers led 32-24 following a quarter of play and 54-46 at the break.
