Jeff Gordon's Top 5 best track performances

Marvin Gentry / USA TODAY Sports

NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series heads to Kentucky Speedway this weekend for the Quaker State 400.

Jeff Gordon has never won at Kentucky, making it the only track on the circuit that he has not been to Victory Lane. The 43-year-old is set to retire at the end of this season and Saturday night's race is his last chance to become the first driver to win at every track.

Ahead of Gordon's possible history-making weekend, here's a look at the five tracks he's found the most success at:

5. Talladega Superspeedway

In 45 starts at the 2.66-mile tri-oval, Gordon has been to Victory Lane six times and has 15 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes. He's grabbed four poles in his No. 24 Chevrolet, the most recent coming at this year's Geico 500. His last win was in 2007, at the Aaron's 499, where he only led one lap on his way to the victory.

4. Daytona International Speedway

Gordon has six wins, 13 top-five and 21 top-10 finishes in 46 starts at the high banking tri-oval. His last win at Daytona was at the Daytona 500, in 2005, where he took the lead on lap 198 of the 200-lap green-white-checkered race. His average finish is 16.3 and has led 710 total laps at the high speed 2.5-mile track.

3. Pocono Raceway

Gordon has been in the win column six times in his 45 starts at Pocono. He's collected 19 top-fives and 31 top-10s at the Tricky Triangle. His last win was in 2012, at the rain-shortened Pennsylvania 400. He's led 1,038 total laps at the track and has an average finish of 10. He also has the most Cup Series wins at Pocono and holds the record of fastest speed during a race (145.384 mph).

2. Darlington Raceway

In 34 starts at Darlington, Gordon has found Victory Lane seven times. He has 19 top-fives and 23 top-10s. His last win was in 2007 at the Dodge Avenger 500. Gordon's average finish at Darlington is 11.4 and has led 1,744 total laps at the 1.366-mile track.

1. Martinsville Speedway

Gordon has collected his most career wins (eight), most top-fives (28), most top-10s (36) and most laps led (3,744) at Martinsville. His last win at The Paperclip was at the Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500 in 2013 where he took the lead, and kept it, from Matt Kenseth in the final 20 laps. Gordon also holds the record for the fastest speed during a race (82.223 mph) at the 0.526-mile short track.
