Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Finishes Third in IRL iRacing at Michigan

Earnhardt Jr. finished third in the IndyCar iRacing Challenge Chevrolet 275 at the virtual Michigan International Speedway Saturday afternoon.

Analysis:

The NASCAR icon turned in a decent qualifying effort and would start 18th in the 31-car field at MIS. Earnhardt didn't push too hard in the early going, opting to preserve his tires. However, he did climb up to 14th-place by mid-race. Earnhardt pitted for fuel on lap 45 and that would assure he could make it to lap 85 and the checkered flag with no more stops. The final laps would see him pick his way from 11th- to third-place with good moves and some drivers being forced to pit for fuel. He would cross the finish line third for a brilliant podium performance in his first IRL iracing action.
