Team Penske announced Wednesday morning that former full-time NASCAR driver, current IndyCar driver Juan Pablo Montoya will be making his return to NASCAR’s top-tier series for 2 races this season.
Montoya will be entered in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 27th, as well as the Quicken Loans 400 in June.
Montoya will drive the No. 12 Ford car, sponsored by Swedish bearing company SKF.
The Brickyard 400 is a race that Montoya has come close to winning twice, but ended up suffering heartbreaking defeat. In 2009, Montoya led 116 laps, but got dinged for a speeding penalty, costing him the win.
In 2010, Montoya won the pole for the race, but ended up wrecking towards the end of the race, finishing 32nd.
