Chase Elliott: Racing No. 35 truck at Daytona

Elliott will pilot the No. 35 Chevrolet for McAnally Hilgermann Racing for the Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona, Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports reports.

Analysis:

Jake Garcia will drive the No. 35 truck full-time in 2023, but he will not be able to run Daytona because the track is larger than 1.25 miles in length and he won't turn 18 until the following week. As such, McAnally Hilgermann Racing tabbed the 2020 Cup Series champ to pilot their second full-time entry in the season opener. Elliott will likely do some drafting with teammate Christian Eckes in the No. 19 truck. Elliott did one Truck Series race last season in the No. 7 Spire entry at Bristol Dirt where he finished seventh.
