Following a loss to Brian Ortega at UFC 195, Brazilian featherweight Diego Brandao has been busted for a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation, according to UFC.com.

Brandao reportedly tested positive for Carboxy-THC, a metabolite of either marijuana and/or hashish. The in-competition sample was collected after his most recent bout on Jan. 2.

The punishment for a first offense related to recreational substances including marijuana or cocaine is a 1-year suspension (with possibility of two additional years for "aggravating circumstances") and a possible forfeiture of the fighter's purse.

The news comes at a bad time for Brandao, who fell to 3-3 in his last 6 appearances after being submitted by Ortega in the third round. The 28-year-old has failed to break away from the pack since winning "The Ultimate Fighter 14" in 2011 and this latest incident will only set him back further.
