Shane Mosley ends retirement to fight Ricardo Mayorga in August
After a one-and-a-half-year hiatus from boxing, Shane Mosley is coming out of retirement at the age of 43 to fight Ricardo Mayorga, according to ESPN's Dan Rafael.
Mosley retired for the second time in December 2013, but was once again drawn to the allure of the ring.
Mayorga and Mosley will square off Aug. 29 at a location yet to be determined, with some believing the Staples Center could be an option.
"Mayorga was talking shit and I ran into him in Vegas. Things escalated and, boom, rematch," Mosley said of his decision to re-enter the ring.

In their lone bout against each other, Mosley knocked Mayorga out in the 12th round in September 2008. Despite his absence from professional boxing, his braggadocio is in top form.
"I'm planning to show the world what (22 months) off did for me. They think I'm finished? I'm far from finished," Mosley said. "I am in the best shape of my life. I feel bad for Mayorga. No one knows how good I really am. I am going to kill him."
The former champion also acknowledged that Mayorga's online presence spurred him into the fight.
"I'm gonna give him a beating for his Tweeting."
Mosley holds a 47-9-1 record entering the august bout, while Mayorga stands at 31-8-1.
