UFC 174: Arlovski wins controversial split-decision in return to the UFC

It was a triumphant, and somewhat controversial, return to the Octagon for "The Pitt Bull".

In what may be considered a minor miracle, the heavyweight scrap between Andrei Arlovski and Brendan Schaub went the entire 15 minutes without either man's suspect chin spectacularly failing them, with the Belarusian claiming a possibly unearned split-decision victory.

Arlovski, who was fighting for the first time under the Zuffa umbrella since UFC 82 in 2008, survived a third round barrage in which Schaub landed a steady stream of ground-and-pound (a flurry that many wrongly thought clinched him the fight).

Although Schaub likely should have had his hand raised, his face did look like this after the fight:

Yikes.
