Rory McDonald stabbed himself prior to UFC 170 win (graphic photo)
Warning: Graphic photo of injury below.
Rory McDonald's victory over Demian Maia at UFC 170 earned him an additional $100,000 ($50,000 for the win, $50,000 for the Fight of the Night bonus), and has put him back into the conversation of top fighters in the champion-free welterweight division.
Making the unanimous decision more impressive: McDonald accidentally stabbed his own hand while cutting an avocado before the fight.

The 24-year-old Canadian wants a shot at the winner of Johny Hendricks (15-2) vs. Robbier Lawler (22-9), who'll meet at UFC 171 in Dallas for the vacant welterweight title.
It's possible MacDonald could be fighting in front of a home crowd if given a title shot, with UFC 174 being held at Rogers Arena in Vancouver(a five-hour drive from his native Kelowna, B.C.). However, MacDonald may have to serve a medical suspension until Aug. 22, unless he has an x-ray on his right ankle and is cleared by a doctor.
