A featherweight showdown between Diego Lopes and Jean Silva will headline Noche UFC in San Antonio on Sept. 13, the promotion announced Tuesday.

Lopes (26-7) will step back into the Octagon after losing to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 314 in his first title shot. While the 30-year-old was able to push Volkanovski to five rounds, he suffered his first loss by decision since his debut with the promotion in May 2023.

Before his defeat in April, Lopes had reeled off a five-fight win streak that included three finishes and decision victories over Dan Ige and Brian Ortega. The Brazilian fighter is the No. 2-ranked fighter in the 145-pound division behind Max Holloway, who is making a permanent move to lightweight.

Silva (16-2) has quickly risen in the featherweight ranks after earning a contract on Dana White's Contender Series in 2023. The 28-year-old has stopped each of his past five opponents, most recently submitting Bryce Mitchell in the second round of their bout at UFC 314 in April.

A victory over Lopes would likely vault Silva into title contention.
