Report: Burns vs. Brady to headline UFC Fight Night in September
A welterweight bout between Gilbert Burns and Sean Brady is expected to headline a UFC Fight Night card on Sept. 7, reports Mike Bohn and Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie.
Burns and Brady have verbally agreed to the five-round bout, according to Bohn and Hannoun, who add that a location for the event has yet to be announced.
The fight agreements reportedly haven't been issued yet.
Burns and Brady rank sixth and eighth in the welterweight division, respectively.
The 37-year-old Burns has lost his two most recent fights, including a KO defeat against Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 299 in March. The former title challenger's last victory dates back to April 2023 versus Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287.
Meanwhile, Brady got back in the win column in style by submitting Kelvin Gastelum in December. He had previously suffered a TKO loss against Belal Muhammad in October 2022. The 31-year-old is 6-1 since joining the UFC in 2019. He was expected to face Vicente Luque in March but wasn't available due to injury.
