Report: Costa-Rockhold moved to UFC's Aug. 20 event
A middleweight bout between Paulo Costa and Luke Rockhold is being moved from UFC 277 to the Aug. 20 event, sources told MMA Junkie's Farah Hannoun and Mike Bohn.
The fight was initially set to take place July 30 in Dallas. The location and venue have not been announced for the new date.
The reason for the move was not provided, according to MMA Junkie.
Rockhold (16-5), a former middleweight champion, is set to make his return to the Octagon following a knockout loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239 in 2019. The San Jose native has dropped his past two fights. His last win came against David Branch via submission in September 2017.
Costa (13-2) is looking to return to the win column following back-to-back losses. He dropped a light heavyweight match to Marvin Vettori by unanimous decision; prior to moving up in weight, Costa suffered a TKO loss to 185-pound champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 253.
