The Miami Beach Police Department is investigating an alleged altercation between UFC stars Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal.
A police report obtained by MMA Junkie's Nolan King identified Masvidal as the suspect in a felony battery incident that took place at a Miami Beach restaurant Monday night.
Charges have not been filed.
The victim wasn't identified in the police report because they invoked Marsy's Law, which grants protective rights to the alleged victim of a crime, Miami Beach Police's public information officer told ESPN's Mike Coppinger.
Covington was reportedly the victim in the incident, sources told MMA Fighting's Damon Martin.
According to the police report, the victim alleged Masvidal ran up from the victim's left at the Papi Steak restaurant in Miami Beach and punched him twice in the face - once on the mouth and once on the eye. The police report stated the victim suffered a fractured tooth and wrist abrasion.
Police surrounded Covington in the aftermath of the alleged attack around 11:30 p.m. ET.
The former UFC interim welterweight champion can be heard saying, "He's over here swinging, trying to come at me, and I ran."
Masvidal later posted a video on Twitter and tagged Covington:
"Calling this the show-your-face challenge, you know?" Masvidal said. "What's up? I'm from Dade County. You talk that shit, you have to back it up. That's how my city rolls, man."
The two welterweights have become bitter rivals in recent years after initially developing a close friendship while working as training partners at American Top Team.
Covington dominated Masvidal in their long-awaited grudge match at UFC 272 on March 5, earning a unanimous decision victory.
