Khabib: McGregor's deleted tweet was 'terrible'

Khabib Nurmagomedov thinks Conor McGregor's recently deleted tweet was in poor taste.

After Nurmagomedov wrote "Good always defeats evil" following McGregor's loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July, the Irishman seemingly responded last week by tweeting, "COVID is good and father is evil?" The since-deleted taunt was an apparent reference to Nurmagomedov's father and longtime coach, Abdulmanap, who died in 2020 from COVID-19 complications.

The UFC legend criticized his former rival's actions while speaking to TMZ Sports earlier this week.

"Terrible," Nurmagomedov said of the social media post, adding that he believes McGregor crossed the line.

Nurmagomedov's friend and teammate, former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier, also condemned McGregor's trash talk.

Nurmagomedov and McGregor faced off in the highest-selling fight in UFC history in 2018, with "The Eagle" defending the lightweight title by submission at UFC 229.
