Report: 'Korean Zombie' vs. Ige to headline June 19 Fight Night
A featherweight fight between Chan Sung Jung and Dan Ige will headline the UFC's Fight Night event June 19, sources told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
The promotion is close to finalizing the bout, though contracts have yet to be signed, Okamoto adds.
Ige (15-3) is coming off an impressive first-round KO over Gavin Tucker on March 13. He called out "The Korean Zombie" following his victory.
Jung (16-6) appeared close to landing a title shot before losing to Brian Ortega last October via unanimous decision.
Ige is the UFC's eighth-ranked featherweight and owns a 7-2 record with the promotion. He was riding a six-fight win streak before dropping a decision loss to Calvin Kattar in July 2020. Jung currently ranks No. 5 in the division.
The UFC has yet to announce an official location for the Fight Night event.
