Hall stops Silva with 4th-round TKO in UFC main event
Uriah Hall stepped into the Octagon against one of his idols Saturday night and walked out victorious.
Hall finished former middleweight champion Anderson Silva via a TKO at 1:24 of the fourth round in the main event at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas.
"Prime Time" dropped Silva with a right hand and followed up with ground-and-pound. He landed several unanswered right punches until referee Herb Dean called off the bout.
"Hats off to the legend for what he's done for the sport," Hall said in his postfight interview.
"It was a lot of emotion," he continued. "I know the job was to get out there and get the W, but to separate those emotions, that was work itself. I was just honored to share that moment with him."
Hall also hurt Silva at the end of the third round, dropping him with a right hand. Hall landed ferocious shots on the ground but "The Spider" was saved by the bell.

Silva enjoyed a strong start to the fight, outpointing Hall on the feet and using pressure to confuse his opponent. Silva largely dictated the first round, but Hall got comfortable in the second frame and took over from there.
With the victory, Hall extended his winning streak to three.
Silva, widely considered one of the greatest fighters of all time, is now riding a three-fight skid. The 45-year-old is 1-7 (1 NC) in his last nine bouts dating back to 2013.
