UFC legend Silva: Fight vs. Hall could be my last
Anderson Silva could be gearing up for his final bout.
The former UFC middleweight champion said Wednesday that he may retire after fighting Uriah Hall in the main event of UFC Fight Night on Oct. 31.
"Maybe this is my last fight," Silva told ESPN's Brett Okamoto. "That's why I'm training hard every day, doing my best. My whole team has come to help me. Everybody is in quarantine to start training. I'm very excited because I think this is my last performance inside the cage, for my fans. We'll see."
UFC president Dana White said Tuesday that Silva will hang up his gloves after the fight against Hall.
Silva is widely considered one of the greatest fighters of all time. "The Spider" held the 185-pound belt from 2006 to 2013, recording 10 successful title defenses. He has beaten the likes of Dan Henderson, Forrest Griffin, Rich Franklin, Vitor Belfort, and Stephan Bonnar, among others.
However, the Brazilian is 1-5 (1 NC) since losing the title to Chris Weidman. Silva is currently riding a two-fight skid and hasn't picked up a victory since his fight against Derek Brunson in 2017.
