Saint Preux tests positive for COVID-19, fight vs. Menifield postponed
Ovince Saint Preux tested positive for COVID-19, so his co-main event bout against Alonzo Menifield on Saturday has been postponed, the fighter's management group announced.
The group added that Saint Preux previously battled COVID-19. Saint Preux's manager, Oren Hodak, told ESPN's Marc Raimondi that the light heavyweight veteran tested negative for the virus earlier this week but a positive result came back Saturday. Saint Preux reportedly has no symptoms.
For safety precautions the @003_OSP fight will be removed from the card tonight and reschedule for 9/5. He battled Covid previously and presented both + and - tests this week. He currently has no symptoms and his cornermen are all clear. #ufc

"OSP" is now set to face Menifield on Sept. 5, which leaves Saturday's Fight Night card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas with nine fights, including a headline bout between Pedro Munhoz and Frankie Edgar.
Saint Preux last fought in May, when he was defeated by Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night 171. Menifield, meanwhile, lost to Devin Clark via unanimous decision in June at UFC 250 in his last appearance in the Octagon.
