Till wants Whittaker in co-main event of McGregor-Cerrone card
Darren Till wants in on the Conor McGregor-Donald Cerrone action.
The UFC middleweight contender called out former champion Robert Whittaker on Thursday with hopes the fight will co-headline UFC 246 - the event that will mark McGregor's return - on Jan. 18 in Las Vegas.
"Surely they need a co-main event?" Till wrote in an Instagram caption. "@robwhittakermma let's go!"
McGregor's return to the Octagon was finalized Thursday afternoon; he's set to meet "Cowboy" in a welterweight bout. The former lightweight and featherweight champion hasn't fought since an October 2018 loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Till and Whittaker agreed over social media earlier this month to fight at UFC London in March. Whittaker first called out "The Gorilla" after the latter's win over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244.
Let’s fight at @ufc London then @robwhittakermma ? 🦍#YouAreNotReady

But now, Till has changed his tune and instead wants to serve as the opener for McGregor versus Cerrone. Whittaker has yet to respond to him.
