Watch: Masvidal's coach releases training footage of flying knee
Jorge Masvidal executed his plan against Ben Askren to perfection on Saturday at UFC 239, knocking out his hated rival with a brutal flying knee.
While some viewed the KO as a fluke, Masvidal's coach, Mike Brown of American Top Team, posted training footage of the move, confirming the ultra-aggressive start to the fight was always the top-five welterweight's strategy:
UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier said on Twitter that Brown told him about Masvidal's approach prior to the fight, posting a text message as proof:
Mike brown and masvidal told me last night at dinner he was gonna Start this fight with a flying knee and showed me video on Mike's phone of him practicing
