Four months after the much-hyped matchup between the undefeated Floyd Mayweather and first-time professional boxer Conor McGregor, the North American pay-per-view numbers have become official.

Showtime announced Thursday the match sold 4.3 million units across traditional cable and various streaming platforms, according to Dave Doyle of MMA Fighting. The official numbers make it the second-most purchased combat sports event of all time, coming in 300,000 units shy of the record 4.6 million buys of Mayweather's bout with Manny Pacquiao in 2015.

Showtime, a publicly-traded company, said the event brought in about $600 million in revenue.

Sales outside of the U.S. and Canada were excluded from this tally.
