"The Greatest Living American" is leaving the broadcast booth.
Ex-middleweight Brian Stann announced Monday on Instagram that his days as a UFC color commentator would be no more. The 36-year-old said he's giving up the gig for a COO position at a real-estate firm and to pursue his executive MBA at Northwestern this fall.
After a stint in the WEC that saw him capture the promotion's light heavyweight crown, Stann compiled a record of 6-5 in the UFC. He hung up his gloves in 2013 with a professional record of 12-6, and then effortlessly settled into his role as a color commentator, working mostly alongside play-by-play man Jon Anik on the promotion's cards broadcast on FOX.
It remains to be seen who will fill Stann's shoes.
