Mayweather doesn't believe rumors of McGregor being KO'd in training

In a lifetime of boxing, Floyd Mayweather has heard it all, so he knows an unsubstantiated rumor when he hears one.

This past weekend, WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas claimed that he'd been told by friends in the boxing community that Conor McGregor had already been knocked out during training for his Aug. 26 match with Mayweather. There hasn't been much follow-up to Vargas' gossip, and Mayweather recently told FightHype he's not convinced that McGregor's mishap actually occurred.

"My thing is basically like this, if I ain't seen no footage, I don't believe it," Mayweather said, according to Anton Tabuena of Bloody Elbow. "And me and Jessie Vargas are in communication.

"We've been talking about working with him, signing him back for Mayweather promotions. We've been communicating, but everything is just rumors until I see it. I have to visually see it with my own eyes."

During their four-day marathon, Mayweather had plenty of harsh words for McGregor, even referring to him as "easy work." While he could knock "The Notorious" for allegedly not being able to make it out of a sparring session unscathed, even Mayweather doesn't think McGregor will be that easy.
