Mayweather opens as heavy favorite vs. McGregor after latest rumors
If you're crazy enough to bet on a fight that may never happen, the smart money is on "Money."
The Westgate Las Vegas Superbook posted futures odds Thursday for the rumored megafight between retired boxing star Floyd Mayweather and UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, and Mayweather has opened as a massive -2500 favorite.
It's important to note that Superbook specifies it's "action for boxing match only," so in the event McGregor somehow lures Mayweather into the Octagon or they fight under other conditions, all bets are off. At the moment, McGregor is a +1100 underdog.
Mayweather himself has insisted that McGregor needs to work things out with his current employers in the UFC before negotiations can proceed, but the mere fact that it is being openly discussed clearly has bettors interested.
