Jones prefers 'Rumble' fight over Cormier rematch
Jon Jones has beaten the best at 205 pounds, and he has one more name in his sights.
Light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is set to fight Anthony "Rumble" Johnson in the main event of UFC 206 on Dec. 10, with the winner of that bout presumably putting the undisputed title on the line against Jones' interim belt. Jones defended the light heavyweight title eight consecutive times from 2011-15, only to be stripped of the belt due to his involvement in a hit-and-run.
The last successful title defense of Jones' run came against Cormier, a unanimous decision win in the main event of UFC 182. Cormier later became champion by defeating Johnson for a vacant title.
Jones was asked by a fan on Twitter who he would like to face next, and he stated his preference for a fresh matchup with Johnson as opposed to a second dance with "DC."
I would much rather fight Rumble for the title. That way I could clear the division and get my belt back at once https://t.co/aZJKjuUsP7

In his most recent fight, Jones won an interim title by defeating Ovince Saint Preux via unanimous decision at UFC 197. Jones and Cormier were supposed to rematch at UFC 200, but Jones was removed from the card after he was named in a USADA doping violation just three days before the event.
