Cerrone, Nurmagomedov engage in Twitter battle over potential bout
Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone and Khabib Nurmagomedov have squared off on Twitter over whether or not an April 16 fight on UFC Fight Night between the two will occur.
After Nurmagomedov claimed Cowboy pulled out of a bout just hours after signing the deal to fight at 170 pounds, Cerrone issued a strong denial.
Wow. I just signed contract to fight Cowboy at 170 3 hours later he hurt his ribs and pulled out. Any other opponent for April 16 #UFCTampa

Let's be Very Very Clear I didn't pull out of a mother fucking thing. https://t.co/NV1M2PRaaG

Cerrone went on to say he has signed the deal and is healthy enough to fight, denying that there was anything wrong with him physically.
As of now, nothing's been made official by the UFC but Nurmagomedov tweeted out a picture of his signed contract:
@Cowboycerrone I signed my contract and beat you worse than how RDA just smashed you. Don't be scared. pic.twitter.com/55f6ZpjSij

Tony Ferguson pulled out of the originally planned fight with Nurmagomedov after suffering an injury to his lung. B.J. Penn has also offered to take the fight on short notice.
