Colorado Rapids forward Kevin Doyle had to be withdrawn in the 27th minute of his homeland Ireland's 1-0 friendly defeat of Switzerland on Friday after a strong challenge from Norwich City defender Timm Klose.

The match was played as a warmup and an opportunity to experiment ahead of Martin O'Neill's squad's Euro 2016 campaign this summer, but now Doyle could be set for a spell on the sidelines due to this severe gash on his leg:

The 32-year-old forward moved to Major League Soccer from Wolverhampton Wanderers for the 2015 campaign, and has five goals over 19 starts for the Rapids.
