Report: San Jose Earthquakes winger Cordell Cato suffers hamstring strain
Reuters
San Jose Earthquakes winger Cordell Cato may be missing out on his team's 2016 season opener against the Colorado Rapids after reportedly suffering a hamstring injury in a preseason match.
Earthquakes head coach Dominic Kinnear says Cato is expected to miss two-to-three weeks of action as he recovers, according to the Mercury News' Elliot Almond.
The 23-year-old Trinidad and Tobago international is the second key figure to go down in preseason, as Kinnear also finds himself with Marc Pelosi unavailable for three-to-four months after undergoing knee surgery.
Cato recently signed a contract extension with the club, too.
