Earthquakes' Marc Pelosi undergoes successful knee operation

San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Marc Pelosi had successful surgery to resolve chronic tendinitis in his left knee on Friday.
The operation, conducted by Dr. Akizuki in San Francisco, will put the German-born 21-year-old on the shelf for two-to-three months, the club confirmed.
Pelosi appeared in 12 Major League Soccer outings in 2015 and, despite being called into two United States squads, has yet to make his international bow.
The setback means he's expected to miss at least the first seven matches of the 2016 campaign.
