Free agent Bobby Burling re-signs with Colorado Rapids
After losing Clint Irwin and Drew Moor to Toronto FC, the Colorado Rapids have re-signed free-agent central defender Bobby Burling to a new contract.
Burling became a free agent after having his contract option declined by the Rapids at the end of the 2015 season.
"This is an important step as we build our roster for 2016," Rapids technical director Paul Bravo said in a statement. "Bobby is a tremendously popular player in the group, adding leadership and experience. He was a key member of the squad last season and we are delighted to have him back."

Burling joined the Rapids from Chivas USA after the Los Angeles-based outfit folded at the end of the 2013 season. He started in 22 matches last season, scoring two goals and winning the Rapids' Defender of the Year award.
As per league policy, specific terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
