Sporting KC pens new deals for Kempin, Sinovic, Olum
Sporting Kansas City announced on Wednesday the club has re-signed a pair of key players for the 2016 season, bringing back left full-back Seth Sinovic and goalkeeper Jon Kempin.
The club also signed Kenyan midfielder Lawrence Olum, who had previously played at Sporting Park from 2011-2014. Olum joined Kedah FA, a Malaysian outfit, for the 2015 season, but comes back to MLS one year later.
"We are very excited to have these three players back in 2016," Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes said. "Seth and Lawrence have extensive experience at the top level, while Jon has continued to improve each year with the club. Collectively they will help bring a winning mentality to the team."
Sinovic was listed as one of 60 players available in the MLS Re-Entry Draft, but will now be removed from selection. He started in 152 of 154 appearances in all competitions since joining Sporting KC in 2011 and has been a regular in the side throughout each of his five seasons with the team.
The return of Olum comes one season after he left the club. In Malaysia, Olum helped Kedah FA win the 2015 Malaysia Premier League title.
