Report: Bradley Wright-Phillips keen on loan spell; Bournemouth among suitors

Bradley Wright-Phillips is keen on a temporary move to the Premier League this winter, with struggling Bournemouth among the clubs interested in securing a loan deal for the New York Red Bulls forward, according to Peter O'Rourke of ESPN FC.

The 30-year-old failed to make the grade at Manchester City as a youngster, but since his move to Major League Soccer in 2013 he's found great success, winning last year's Golden Boot, and picking up two Supporters' Shields.

Wright-Phillips' interest in taking another crack at the English top flight has alerted a number of clubs, including the Cherries, ahead of the January window. Eddie Howe's side sits 19th in the table, and is looking to bolster its attacking options in January due to the long-term absence of Callum Wilson with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

First on Wright-Phillips' agenda, however, is completing the MLS postseason. The Red Bulls face the tough task of attempting to overturn a two-goal deficit in the second leg of the Eastern Conference Championship against the Columbus Crew on Sunday. Doing so would earn them a trip to the MLS Cup Final against either the Portland Timbers or FC Dallas.
