Sounders defender Roman Torres out for the season with knee injury
The Seattle Sounders have been dealt an injury blow as defender Roman Torres has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2015 season with a knee injury.
Torres, 29, joined the Sounders just one month ago after impressing with the Panamanian national team during the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The burly central defender was expected to help shore up Seattle's back line but picked up an injury to his left knee during his side's 1-1 draw with San Jose.
Since joining the Sounders, Torres has made four appearances. His teammates wished him well on his path to recovery, as the club continues to fight for a playoff spot.
Seattle captain Brad Evans, who was moved to midfield from center-back to accommodate for Torres, is likely to return back into the defensive line once more to fill Torres' absence.
