For the third time in his Major League Soccer career, Chad Marshall has been recognized as the best at his craft.
Marshall, who has now captured the honor more than any other player in league history after winning it in 2008 and 2009 with the Columbus Crew, claimed 27.53 percent of the vote, narrowly beating out Bobby Boswell of D.C. United.
The 11-year veteran was ever-present for the Sounders this season, playing all 3,060 minutes (34 matches) and leading the league with 136 interceptions.
