Ashley Cole to play 3rd season with LA Galaxy
The LA Galaxy re-signed Ashley Cole to a one-year contract Wednesday, taking the veteran Englishman into his third season with the storied MLS franchise.
"We are very excited that Ashley will be returning for us in 2018. He's been a tremendous leader for our club," LA Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid said in a club-issued statement. "He's shown he can be successful in this league and we're confident that will continue in the season ahead."
The left-back has 55 appearances in the league since shifting Stateside in January 2016, and offers a wealth of experience with four Premier League titles, seven FA Cups, a Champions League title, and 107 England caps to his name.
The Californian club returns to league duty on March 4, when the Portland Timbers visit the StubHub Center.
